Biomarker testing plays a critical role in guiding treatment selection and in improving outcomes in NSCLC. However, the use of biomarker testing in clinical practice remains suboptimal, highlighting the need for strategies to optimize point-of-care testing and improve education on the important role of biomarkers in NSCLC. Education of community physicians should address recommended biomarkers for assessment, available testing platforms, the role of liquid biopsy, and helpful biomarker testing resources.
