Robert Korngold on Advances in Bone Marrow Transplant
Robert Korngold, PhD
Robert Korngold, PhD, chief of The Division of Research at John Theurer Cancer Center, reflects on the progress made in the field of bone marrow transplant. Most strikingly, new approaches have opened the opportunity of a bone marrow transplant to virtually all eligible patients, he noted.
Bone marrow transplants have become the platform from which immunotherapy and vaccines can be built, Korngold believes. New methods and approaches are becoming available, which lend strength to the graph versus tumor response in the hope of avoiding relapses and complications.
