Venetoclax Plus Pegcrisantaspase Induces Remissions in R/R AML: With Ashkan Emadi, MD, PhD

Ashkan Emadi, MD, PhD, discusses how the combination of venetoclax plus pegcrisantaspase induced complete remissions in heavily pretreated patients with relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukemia.

Welcome to OncLive On Air®! I’m your host today, Megan Hollasch.

OncLive On Air is a podcast from OncLive®, which provides oncology professionals with the resources and information they need to provide the best patient care. In both digital and print formats, OncLive® covers every angle of oncology practice, from new technology to treatment advances to important regulatory decisions.

In today’s episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with Ashkan Emadi, MD, PhD. Dr Emadi is the chair of the Department of Medical Oncology and the Alexander Bland Osborn Endowed Chair and Distinguished Professor of Medical Oncology at the West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine; as well as physician-in-chief of Medical Oncology and the associate center director for Translational Research at the WVU Cancer Institute in Morgantown.

In our exclusive interview, Dr Emadi discussed how the combination of venetoclax (Venclexta) plus pegcrisantaspase induced complete remissions in heavily pretreated patients with relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukemia, including in those with prior exposure to venetoclax. He detailed data on the combination from a phase 1 study published in Blood, the significance of the findings, and more.
