Joanna L. Morales, Esq, director, Cancer Legal Resource Center, explains the most common cancer related legal issues that patients encounter.

The top 3 most common types of issues include:
  1. Being allowed to take time off during treatment or return to work after treatment
  2. Access to health insurance options and navigating benefits
  3. Disability insurance coverage and the financial issues that go into cancer care.
Morales explains that there are many other legal issues a cancer patients may see, including genetic discrimination, toxic torts, and landlord issues.
