Mahantshetty says that many women with cervical cancer present at an advanced stage, so a trial was designed to see if chemoradiation would be beneficial to this particular population.

In a trial conducted by Tata Memorial Hospital, investigators sought to solidify the impact of concomitant chemoradiation in women with FIGO stage IIIb squamous cell cervical cancer.
