According to Mikhail, many studies are looking at the inclusion of stem-cell transplants in patients with myeloma. Currently, there are many immune-modulatory agents and combinations that are being evaluated.

Immunotherapy continues to be an area of investigation in this patient population. Safety concerns are still being investigated, states Mikhail.
