
Onclive Adds The University of Vermont Cancer Center to its Strategic Alliance Partnership
New collaboration to publicize advances in cancer research and treatment.

In the new partnership, OncLive’s editorial and marketing teams will publicize important news from the University of Vermont Cancer Center. Based in Burlington, the University of Vermont Cancer Center is a not-for-profit clinical and research cancer center clinically aligned with the University of Vermont Medical Center. With more than 120 scientists and physicians involved in a full range of basic, translational, clinical and outcomes research, the University of Vermont Cancer Center is the only organization of its kind in the state.

A central part of the University of Vermont Cancer Center’s mission is to share with the public — as well as with other cancer providers, researchers and healthcare experts – the latest information on cancer prevention and screening, diagnostics and treatment, including advances in clinical and laboratory research and issues of survivorship.
“Through our collaboration with OncLive’s Strategic Alliance Partnership, we will be better positioned to fulfill our mission and communicate more effectively with our local, regional and international audiences,” said Stein.
Physicians and scientists at the University of Vermont Cancer Center have made significant contributions to advances in cancer research. Among them are:
- Pioneering a new biopsy procedure that has changed the course of cancer treatment
- Discovering how certain cholesterol-lowering drugs may also be used in cancer therapies
- Contributing to the discovery of certain inherited risk factors for breast cancer
- Finding new ways to increase tolerability and reduce unwanted side effects of cancer drugs
- Establishing community cancer registries
- Assessing and addressing the needs of cancer survivors.
The University of Vermont Cancer Center joins OncLive’s Strategic Alliance Partnership as the latest of nearly 60 partners, including other leading cancer centers, nursing schools and physician groups around the country.
