Adjuvant Osimertinib in Resected EGFR-Mutated Stage IB-IIIA NSCLC: ADAURA Exploratory 8-Year Overall Survival Landmark Update

Roy S. Herbst, MD, PhD, of Dartmouth Cancer Center, presents the exploratory 8-year overall survival landmark update from the phase 3 ADAURA trial at the 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer. ADAURA randomized 682 patients with completely resected EGFR-mutated stage IB to IIIA non-small cell lung cancer to 3 years of adjuvant osimertinib or placebo, with or without prior adjuvant chemotherapy. At a May 4, 2026, data cutoff, with median follow-up of 93.3 months for osimertinib and 79.6 months for placebo, the 8-year overall survival rate was 79% versus 64% in the overall population (HR, 0.52; 95% CI, 0.39-0.71) and 74% versus 58% in the stage II to IIIA primary population (HR, 0.53; 95% CI, 0.38-0.75). Benefit was consistent across sex, age, smoking history, race, stage, EGFR mutation type, and chemotherapy use.
