Husband and Wife Duo Pursue Medicine Together

Manmeet Singh Ahluwalia, MD, chief of medical oncology, chief scientific officer, and deputy director at Miami Cancer Institute, and his wife, Harneet Kaur Walia, MD, director of sleep medicine and continuous improvement at Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, say that they learn from each other’s experiences and share in successes. The couple talk about what inspired them to pursue medicine and the importance of keeping a strong work/life balance, communication, and priorities, including their 2 children, in mind. Walia advises the audience to “keep going and keep connecting,” and Ahluwalia says she is his biggest supporter.
