A Note to Readers: Introducing the Oncology Specialty Group

We live in an electronic age, with the Internet replacing the public library as the go-to place for information and e-mail, text messaging, and Twitter supplanting the post office. Media analysts have offered dire predictions on the future of print journalism, but we share the view of optimists who say print is not dying, it is evolving.

Contemporary Oncology

is also evolving. We have now united with the experienced publishing, editorial, and creative staff of and OncLive Nursing under the Oncology Specialty Group umbrella, which also includes our newest publication, . As co-editors of these four publications and the OncLive Website, our mission is to provide oncology professionals with the resources and information they need to provide the best patient care. We will be covering every angle of oncology practice, from new technology to treatment advances to important regulatory decisions.

The expansion of the OncLive Website has allowed us to add features and tools not possible with print, such as live coverage from major oncology meetings. Over the next several months, we will be reporting from the Oncology Nursing Society Congress, the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, and the 35th ESMO Congress in October. If you would like to receive e-mail alerts on our live conference coverage from ASCO and ESMO, be sure to register at www.onclive.com. You can also select the conference tab to view a drop-down menu of our most recent coverage. This includes articles from the National Comprehensive Cancer Network annual meeting in March and the recent annual meeting of the Society of Gynecological Oncologists.

We will continue to provide you with Priority Reports, providing insightful information on disease states and clinical trial results and explaining the mechanism of action for novel therapeutics.
