Daniel DeRemer, PharmD, assistant director of Clinical Therapeutics and Incubator, discusses patient education on oral chemotherapy.

Four organizations have gotten together to create an improvement in patient education, says DeRemer. COPA, AAAC, ONS, and NCODA have created a patient-friendly education sheet on oral chemotherapy. It discusses safe handling, side effects, and management strategies, which will help patients better understand the medications that they are receiving, explains DeRemer.
