The Roberts Proton Therapy Center at Penn Medicine in Philadelphia celebrated its 15thanniversary with an event to recognize and appreciate the center’s clinical, research, and administrative staff members on January 24, 2025.

More than 10,600 adult and pediatric patients have received treatment at the Roberts Proton Therapy Center since it opened in 2010. The Roberts Proton Therapy Center is fully integrated with Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, and serves as the treatment planning hub for the proton therapy centers at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health and the Penn Medicine | Virtua Health Proton Therapy Center.

The Roberts Proton Therapy Center is known for pioneering research, including FLASH radiotherapy, and training programs. The newly established Penn Radiation Medicine Institute will expand the global impact of the center, which has trained staff from 27 proton therapy centers across the world over the last 15 years.
