According to Blau, the field started thinking about value-based care models many years ago, when changes arose in the healthcare system.
The Quality Cancer Care Alliance, which was established by several independent practices, shared information to put the model together. Additionally, payers had input to innovate new solutions to reduce the cost and improve the quality.
