Martee L. Hensley, MD, medical oncologist, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, discusses Lynch syndrome for patients with endometrial cancer.

According to Hensley, mismatch repair deficiency testing and microsatellite instability testing could better classify endometrial cancer, which can have treatment implications. This could increase the number of patients identified who might be carriers of germline mutations in mismatch repair enzymes.

If a patient has Lynch syndrome, that could affect the management decisions of the patient and their blood relatives, explains Hensley.

Clinicians referring a patient to MSK can do so by visiting msk.org/refer, emailing referapatient@mskcc.org, or by calling 833-315-2722.
