Dr. Kumar on Properly Managing Patients With Multiple Myeloma

Shaji K. Kumar, MD, professor of medicine, Mayo Clinic, discusses properly managing patients with multiple myeloma.

If patients with newly-diagnosed disease are properly managed, then there is a possibility for a longer duration of remission.

Kumar says that with appropriate management, in the future patients who experience their first relapse could be in as good or better shape than patients today with newly-diagnosed myeloma.
