In an effort to better understand acquired resistance to targeted therapies in GI cancers, investigators collected plasma via liquid biopsy at disease progression for next-generation sequencing of circulating tumor DNA.
Tissue biopsies may not capture the entirety of the tumor in terms of heterogeneity, says Parikh.
