Jeff Michalski, MD, MBA, FASTRO, discusses the goals of the American Society for Radiation Oncology in radiation oncology.

Jeff Michalski, MD, MBA, FASTRO, radiation oncologist, Siteman Cancer Center, Carlos A. Perez Distinguished Professor, vice chair, Radiation Oncology, Washington University School of Medicine, discusses the goals of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) in radiation oncology.

Internationally, ASTRO has been a leading organization for radiation oncologists, Michalski says. In July 2021, it was announced that Michalski was voted president-elect of ASTRO’s Board of Directors. He began his term in October 2021 during the 2021 ASTRO Annual Meeting.

Looking to the next few years, Michalski hopes ASTRO and the annual ASTRO meeting will maintain its leadership position in cancer care, research, and education.

Moreover, Michalski is hopeful that the research presented during the event will continue to influence policy and research, as well as training of radiation oncologists, Michalski concludes.
