Dr. Wright Discusses the Molecular Biology of Ovarian Cancer

Jason D. Wright, MD, Division Chief, Gynecologic Oncology, Associate Clinical Professor of Gynecologic Oncology, Sol Goldman Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Columbia University, discusses the molecular biology of ovarian cancer.

Wright says ovarian cancer tends to be a very heterogeneous disease. Because each tumor is so different, researchers are faced with the challenge of classifying each tumor into subgroups.

Once tumors can be categorized, physicians would have a better idea about who would benefit from each different targeted therapy, Wright says.
