Mark G. Kris, MD, the chief of Thoracic Oncology Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center discusses tests available for lung cancer patients.

FISH is a poor cousin of mutation and that virtually all mutated patients are FISH positive. Tests for mutations are more potent predictors and most trials use them. Some of the tests are done by FISH test. They look for MET amplifications and EML4-ALK as a FISH test.

Dr. Kris says the vast majority of tests are for mutations. He says
