Dr. Bauml on the Unmet Need in Head and Neck Cancer

Joshua Bauml, MD
Published: Thursday, Aug 17, 2017

Joshua Bauml, MD, assistant professor, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, discusses an unmet need for patients with head and neck cancer.

Because HPV-associated head and neck cancer is more common, the concept of survivorship needs to be developed, explains Bauml. Since patients with HPV-associated head and neck cancer tend to be younger, healthier patients, they receive more toxic regimens and need to be better supported, states Bauml.
