Dr. Esteva on Next-Generation Sequencing in Metastatic Breast Cancer

Francisco J. Esteva, MD, PhD, medical oncologist, NYU Langone Medical Center, discusses next-generation sequencing in metastatic breast cancer.

Next-generation sequencing is not yet recommended as the standard of care by the FDA, though it is used at many large institutions.

Esteva says that the goal with this sequencing would allow treating physicians to direct their patients to appropriate clinical trials.
