Jihad Kaouk, MD
Published: Thursday, Aug 31, 2017

Jihad Kaouk, MD, urologist, Cleveland Clinic, discusses the benefits of robotic partial nephrectomy for patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC).

Since robotic surgery is still quite new, there is a learning curve, states Kaouk. It is important for physicians to be comfortable performing this surgery.

However, once a physician is able to conduct this surgery, any tumor that is small and localized will be a good candidate for robotic partial nephrectomy, explains Kaouk.
