Sameh Mikhail, MD, medical oncologist, The Mark H. Zangmeister Cancer Center, discusses ongoing clinical trials for patients with myeloma.

Current studies are looking at stem cell transplants in patients with myeloma. There are a lot of immunomodulatory agents and combinations being looked at, says Mikhail.

Immunotherapy for patients with multiple myeloma is also being scrutinized for its safety concerns, but it appears to show encouraging results in other settings, explains Mikhail.
