Dr. Parikh on the Applicability of Liquid Biopsies in Gastrointestinal Cancers

Aparna R. Parikh, MD, medical oncologist, Massachusetts General Hospital, discusses the applicability of liquid biopsies in gastrointestinal cancers.

In order to understand the mechanisms of acquired resistance to targeted therapies, investigators are using liquid biopsies. Additionally, liquid biopsies are being used during radiation treatment, and even during chemotherapy, says Parikh, to see which technology is the right strategy.
