Dr. Disis on Immunotherapy in Breast Cancer

Mary L. (Nora) Disis, MD, professor of Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine, discusses immunotherapy for patients with breast cancer.

Immunotherapy is now being tested in breast cancer to determine how it can work more efficiently since it doesn’t seem to be as effective as it is in other cancers, explains Disis.

For the majority of patients with breast cancer, investigators must determine a way to start the correct immune response in order to have an impact on the tumor, states Disis.
