Interpreting Efficacy and Durability Results

Dr Dunn interprets the efficacy and durability findings from the updated cosibelimab locally advanced cohort, characterizing the overall response rate exceeding 50% and the unreached median duration of response at 31 months of follow-up as impressive. She notes consistency with the earlier published cohort, in which the duration of response at 24 months was estimated at more than 80%. Dr Dunn highlights that this level of durability is particularly notable for an anti–PD-L1 agent, which in other malignancies has often not matched the efficacy of anti–PD-1 therapy, and that the complete response rate above 25% in locally advanced disease is likewise striking. She cautions that comparisons with cemiplimab and pembrolizumab are difficult absent head-to-head data, and that patients in this cohort were less heavily pretreated with systemic therapy.
